Elephant & dolphins

Finished the elephant-lady with mandala on  the back!

This is my customer’s mom, having her children and grandchildren with her all the time. A cover-up/rework + added some more dolphins.

Koi

Black’n’white start of a colourful koi. Did outlines and some shading while first session, plus the freehand designing.

Kalad kasvavad.

More done. This time I added the colours. With this work I’m not actually colouring, but shading with ’em. I use three cups: one with the pure ink, other with bit lighter mixture of ink and water and third one with really light mixture of ink and water. Usually I use this kind of technique with black-gray shading, but sometimes it’s also useful with working with colours.

Fish-man, man-fish.

Kalad taas. Needsamad. Alustasin varjude lisamisega. Ilgelt põnev on. Ma pole ammu teinud suurt musthalli varjutööd, olin end mõnusalt juba ette häälestanud.

Fish. Again. The same ones. Started the shading, very exciting. I have’nt done this kind of big black’n’grey shading work in quite a long time, so I was already very tuned to this wave.

Niisiis.
Klient soovis saada kalu.

So, client said that he wants two fish swimming towards eachother. I had some idea and drewed the sketch. We agreed that I change the fishes faces to be more calm and serious instead of this evil grin. But I did’nt drew anything onto the paper anymore. And the following is once again a good example, of how a tattoo is coming as it wants to come. You just gotta let yourself to go with the flow! Of course, the first few lineas and ideas on the skin did’nt work, but once it started to work, it worked very well. And you can see the result, as much as someone sees or can imagine the vision.
After the designing with pencil I loaded the “gun” and started to work. At this session I did the corners etc placec that needs more contrast and edgyness and I’m gonna do the rest with the 15magnum. This work just does’nt need the outlines everywhere.
