Sugar llama

Did this lovely llama drinking the petrol from the ground… Poisonous stuff.

And one nice sugar skull with lotuses and diamonds. Customer traveled all the way from Norway to get this, thanks for making the trip!

Sugarin’

Been a while since my last sugar skull and it felt nice to make one again. Did three designs before it finally felt right and we could let the needle in.

This is a lovely cloud with the thunderbolt sticking out of it. Did this actually already in the last August, but today was finally the touch-up day and grabbed a photo of it as well.

And here’s a cover-up. Customer had a tattoo with the words from Def Leppard lyrics. He didn’t really enjoy the old tat anymore, but wanted the new one still to have something to do with the Lep. So, after few drawing attempts I finally got the idea to give it a bit of the feel from the “Hysteria” artwork and designed the lettering etc. There’s some scars from the old tat, under the new one, unfortunately I’m unable to smoothen the skin, can only turn the old tats to new ones.

More sugar

Rohkem sugar skull’e!
Tint: I True Black, I Dark Purple, I Aquamarine, I Co-Co, I Lemon Yellow, I Bright Red, A Oriental Orange, A Atlantic Blue, A Sky Blue

More sugar skulls! Client drew the first sketches and I added a bit of my vison to ’em. Later on we discussed about the details and then slinged the ink. Gotta do it one more time, as always plus add the flowers to both of them. You’ll see.
Needle: 7round liner
Ink: I True Black, I Dark Purple, I Aquamarine, I Co-Co, I Lemon Yellow, I Bright Red, A Oriental Orange, A Atlantic Blue, A Sky Blue

Väga mõnus töö on.
Kasutatud värvid: I True Black, I Aquamarine, A Deep Violet, A true Green, A Deep Violet, A Fire Red.

Client wanted a traditional style mexican sugar skull with wings and crown on it’s head and sky with lightning as background. And a tree under a skull. After showing the half sketch we sat down and I drew the freehand outlines with pencil. I really enjoyed tattooing it. But of course. as always – there’s a lot more work to do.
First I did the outlines with black, then the green leaves, violet stuff onto skull’s face and filled the violet tips and some stones with red. Then violet outlines in the crown and then filled some more stones with light blue. Changed the needle and shaded violet in crown and light blue for the face.
Needles: 7liner & 15Magnum.
Inks: I True Black, I Aquamarine, A Deep Violet, A true Green, A Deep Violet, A Fire Red.

Sugar skull & roosid vol2 / Sugar skull & roses vol2

Kasutatud tindid: True Black, Light Green, Bright Red. Ja natuke seda va Kokkai’d ka…

Session 2. This time I did’nt touch the skull but decided to focus on the roses. First I re-did the outlines and then shaded. At first I tried to use the Kokkai Sumo Ink Medium Gray Wash again, but it’s really too “bright” for this job. And for many others as well, I think. I suppose it’s really handy when doing portraits or large black&gray pieces, but even there would have to do the darker spots with darker ink. I have this Kokkai also in Light Gray Wash version, wonder how light this is….Have’nt tested it yet. Anyway, quite fast I was back with the true Black, mixed it with water and it worked really well this way.
Then colored the leaves and roses. Did the outlines with 7liner and shaded with 15magnum.
Inks used: True Black, Light Green, Bright Red. And lil’ bit of this Kokkai…

Sugar skull

Sugar skull version0.1

Sugar skull version0.1

Värvidena kasutasin: True Black, Dark Purple, Lime Green, Bright Red, Aquamarine.

Mexican (or sugar, whatever you like to call it) and some roses. Did the outlines and I added some colors to the skull as well. But there’s gonna be a lot more of shading and coloring;)
Ink’s used: True Black, Dark Purple, Lime Green, Bright Red, Aquamarine.
